A clinical trial is underway at the Royal Adelaide Hospital to benefit patients suffering atrial fibrillation (AF). The study is led by Professor Jeroen Hendricks who has developed a specialised AF clinic, funded by The Hospital Research Foundation Group.

THRF Group is proud to pledge more than $2 million to support critical start-up operations for the new Australian Bragg Centre for Proton Therapy and Research – soon to be the first facility in the southern hemisphere to offer lifesaving proton treatment. This is set to benefit many Australian cancer patients, who previously had to travel overseas for treatment.

There’s a new treatment option for people living with Parkinson’s to help mange symptoms with a faecal transplant. This is a collaboration between THRF Group, BiomeBank and the Departments of Neurology, Nuclear Medicine and Gastroenterology within The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Royal Adelaide Hospital.

Kangaroo Island resident Sabrina Davis raised $60,000 in response to the 2019-20 bushfire season. This has paid for 225 farm fire kits. The donation was facilitated through THRF Group who also provided a $20,000 grant towards the kits.

A new app and resource hub has been developed for people younger than 65 diagnosed with young onset Parkinson’s. The app – Young Onset Parkinson’s Exchange (YOP-X) – provides information and tools to help people live better with young-onset Parkinson’s and access the support they need through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
